Working Woman

I finally heard from Payless on Monday. I don’t start work until Saturday. So much for them needing someone right away. My brother-n-law called yesterday to ask if I would come over to the house today at noon. So as of today, I’m a working woman.

We’ll see what’s in store for me with working for my brother-n-law. I’m not really sure if he hired me because he really needs the help or if he’s doing it out of charity because my husband and I need the money right now. He’s also hired my husband who works one day a week for him. It’s really becoming a family business. I’ll find out when I go over there today. I’m expecting a complete disaster since he’s been doing all the office work himself for months now. His wife refuses to help since she already works a 40-hour week with a 2-hour daily commute. I don’t blame her.

If my brother-n-law is sincere about needing the help and there’s at least 15-20 hours worth of work a week, I’ll probably call Payless to tell them I’m not going to take the job. That would make me happy.

The Invisible,

S.
